Puffy clay mineral for substrate improvement.
Characteristics: | bloated clay mineral for substrate improvement: loosening, large accumulation capacity for nutrients and water. Grain size 1-3mm . Vermiculite is one of the clay minerals that contribute significantly to soil fertility through their ion exchange ability. They are structurally similar in appearance to the mica minerals and, like these, form flaky crystals. By shock-like heating, the water of crystallization escapes explosively as water vapor and drives apart the individual layers of the structure. By this method, the individual crystal layers are detached from each other so that the originally solid and flat crystals expand into long worm-like particles. The volume increases to 20 times. |
