The temperature should not drop below 15°C; a little ground warmth is favourable.

Humidity requirements are low, even in rooms with central heating the plant can be kept without problems.

Water abundantly once a week during the growing season in summer. When leafless, a strict resting period must be observed. Standing damp and 'cold feet' are to be avoided at all costs.

Depending on the winter temperatures, the foliage will fall sooner or later. Water as long as the foliage is green and stop watering as soon as the foliage turns yellow.

At temperatures above 20°C, start watering again from March.
